Boosting Livestock Production: CDENO Inclusively Supports 500 Livestock Farmers

The North West Livestock Develop­ ment Fund (CDENO) has put smiles on the faces of some 500 livestock farmers in the region. The distribu­ tion of assistance took place in Ba­ menda on September 26, 2026 under the patronage of North West Go­ vernor Adolphe Lele Lafrique. It in­ cluded 30, 000 day old chicks, 100 pure breed piglets, 15 tons of poultry starter feed, 2.5 tons of pig starter feed and 125 tons of dairy feed. Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique re­ vealed that CDENO aims at helping the farmers to meet the expecta­ tions of the population as livestock products are concerned. "They have been given the assistance to get ready and supply the population du­ ring the end of year festivities," said the governor. He urged them to make good use of the assistance by improving on the production so that food will be guaranteed for regions population and the nation at large. The administrative Director of CDENO Mbah Shupong Michael on his part revealed that this year’s as­ sistance was special because of its inclusive nature. He said that persons living with disabilities equally suc­ ceeded to empower themselves through the inputs they received and hence needed an extra encou­ ragement. The Director further re­ vealed that this fifth edition of as­ sistance included an additional sup­ port to dairy farmers that came in from MINEPIA through the integrated agropastoral and fisheries import substitution Plan (PIISAH) .
