Voters Registration Campaign Intensifies

The campaign is organised by an association known as ‘Women, Voters and Sons’.
An association known as ‘Women Voters and Sons’ on Tuesday June 19th organised a press conference at La Chaumiere in Douala to announce that they will be organising a mega voter registration campaign on June 21st at TRADEX-Ndokoti.
Speaking during the press conference, the president of the association, Alice Nkom said she was motivated by the success of a similar operation in Douala II where the association succeeded in registering more than 300.
Alice Nkom said the association is supporting the effort of other associations like NOW, Obosso, 11 million voters which have been on the field campaigning for people to register massively for upcoming elections.
She said she was aware there is voters’ apathy due to lack of confidence in the electoral process but stressed that voting is the only way to change things in Cameroon as it is the people who vote the president of the republic, parliamentarians and mayors.
