NBA Championship : New Season Underway

Joel Embiid leads Sixters to victory over Knicks on second playing day while Toronto Raptors of Pascal Siakam lost to New Orleans Pelicans 99-113 in season opener.

The 72-game NBA championship for the 2020-2021 season opened on December 23, 2020 with two Cameroonians involved. Joel Embiid and Pascal Siakam both put excellent individual performances but with mixed results. 
In their first game of the season Philadelphia 76ers of Joël Embid outplayed Toronto Raptors of Pascal Siakam 113-107 on Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo. The Sixers began the game well wining the first quarter hour (30-26). They lost the second (28-33) but were led only by one point on the scoreboard (58-59). They equally lost the third quarter hour (15-24) and were led by 10 points. Beyond all expectations, the Sixers overcame the third quarter defeat during which they shot just 5 for 22. Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 29 points and 14 rebounds, while Ben Simmons had 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. With a total of 29 points, 14 rebounds and two passes Joël Embiid finished as the best scorer in the game. 
Pascal Siakam on his part finished as the third best scorer with a total of 20 points and six passes. But his performance was not enough to enable Toronto beat New Orleans. Raptors won the first quarter hour 26-23, won the second 31-27 but lost the third quarter hour 38-22. In 12 minutes New Orleans led 88-79 and carried the day beatin...
