Benin, Nigeria : Uniting For Stronger Show

Bidding to co-host the 2025 AFCON, the two countries present admirable assets.


Nigeria and Benin have bid to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria is not new to hosting the most prestigious football competition on the continent. The first time Nigeria hosted the Africa Cup of Nations was in 1980 where they finished as champions. In 2000, they co-hosted with Ghana and the Super Eagles reached the final. If granted a hosting opportunity, then it will be the third time the West African nation will be staging the biennial competition. Nigeria thus presents several admirable assets with the Oyo and Moshood Abiola stadiums standing out. Apart from the stadiums, the West African side breathes experience which may serve as an added advantage.
