This was during the 2023 “Around The World Embassy Tour” in Washington D.C over the weekend.
Cameroon’s Embassy in Washington D.C, USA, was the centre of attraction to the world over the weekend. More than 10,000 people from different countries visited the embassy and were treated to a rich cultural display which reflected the 10 regions of the country, known as Africa in miniature. The cultural festival, which is taking place during the 2023 edition of what is known as Passport D.C, is a month-long journey around the world, highlighting DC’s thriving international diplomatic community and its lively and varied cultures. The event was organized by the Washington D. C Council.
Saturday May 6, 2023 was the D-Day and Cameroon’s Embassy in Washington D.C. was opened to all visitors. There were also lots of documentaries broadcast on giant TV screens, with thousands of brochures and flyers distributed to the visitors on Cameroon as a unique tourist destination.
The Ambassador of Cameroon to the United States, H.E. Henri Etoundi Essomba said the embassy was one among sixty- three embassies that flung their doors open on May 6, 2023 for visitors and tourists to come and savour Cameroon's rich and diverse cultures.
