Competitiveness Support Facility : Steering Committee Holds Eight Session

Improving the competitiveness of the Cameroonian economy especially that of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Very Small Enterprises (VSEs) is the core of the Competitiveness Support Facility for Cameroon. Reason why members of the steering committee held their 8th session in Douala on May 25, 2023. During the meeting, members examined the implementation of the action plan for the first half of the year and the second half of 2023, along with other issues related to the deployment of the technical assistance mission.
While opening the meeting in Douala, the President of the Competitiveness Support Facility for Cameroon, Isaac Tamba, said the session was holding at a time when the world is facing economic hardship with the increase in fuel prices and basic commodities. He added that they are out to ensure the socio-economic development of enterprises and sustainable growth, as well as strengthening the capacities of economic operators, just to name a few. He emphasized that they operate through three major components including direct support to enterprises and intermediary organisations (groups of enterprises), business climate and support for public-private dialogue, and the standardisation and energy efficiency.
One of the members of the steering committee, Chantal Lewat, explained that they have a good number of projects that are still to be executed. As such, they have to examine the projects and see what they have to do in the next six months...
