PWD Bamenda : In Quest Of Another Title

PWD of Bamenda will play against Fovu of Baham in the final of the 62nd edition of the Cup of Cameroon at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium. It is the first time the Bamenda-based club is facing Fovu of Baham in the final. Ahead of Sunday’s final, the Abakwa Boys are leaving nothing to chance in order to take home the prestigious trophy. It will be the second final or PWD of Bamenda in two years. 
The Abakwa Boys had a historic journey to the final after recording five victories in five outings that is from the 64th rounds to the final. During the semi-finals, PWD beat West Regional side, Stade FC of Bandjoun 2-1 on June 24, 2023 at the Douala Reunification Annex Stadium to reach the final. The victory meant that PWD of Bamenda picked the first ticket for the final of the Cup of Cameroon 2022/2023 season. PWD beat Dynamo FC of Douala 6-5 on penalties in the quarterfinals at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium in Yaounde on June 18, 2023 to reach the semi-finals. PWD defeated Astres of Douala 1-0 to win their maiden Cup of Cameroon. The Abakwa Boys won the championship title in 2000.
