Bank of Central Africa : Meritorious Workers Awarded Labour Medals

Labour and Social Security Minister on Friday March 15, 2024 decorated 269 personnel of the sub-regional institution with 275 distinctions for ten or more years of services rendered.

Excellence has been rewarded at the Bank of Central African States (BEAC). Some 269 workers of the sub-regional banking institution on Friday March 15, 2024 got decorated with 275 labour medals comprising Silver, Silver-gilt and Gold for ten or more years of services rendered. In detail, 52 workers bagged home gold (for 25 or more years); some 131 Silver-gilt (for 15 ore more years) and 86 got Silver (at least 10 years of uninterrupted services).
Labour and Social Security Minister, Grégoire Owona, chaired the highly colourful ceremony at the BEAC headquarters in Yaounde in the presence of many national and sub-regional dignitaries among whom the Minister of Public Contracts, Ibrahim Talba Malla.
Addressing the audience, Minister Grégoire Owona said his presence at the ceremony was testimony to the importance the government of Cameroon attaches to the Bank of Central African States, owing to the strategic role it plays in boosting national and sub-regional economies. While pledging government’s continuous support to the institution and the new management body, the Labour and Social Security Minister enjoined beneficiaries of the various distinctions to be true ambassadors of discipline, loyalty, assiduity and respect for hierarchy. “You must make yourselves role models so as to galvanise others to give in their best for the good of sub-regional banking institution,” Minister Grégoire Owona said.
