Apart from schools and political parties, cultural associations also took part in 20th May celebrations chaired by the Divisional Officer, Leonard Nyam.
Tombel, a locality in the restive South West Region, has once again demonstrated it vitality and attachment to national values with a massive turnout of both the military and civilian populations for the 52nd edition of National Unity Day on May 20. Thanks to the massive mobilisation of the administration of Tombel led by the Divisional Officer, Leonard Nyam, and elite of the area led by Minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che, the entire subdivision vibrated to the rhythm of National Unity Day.
From the military march-past that saw detachments of the infantry, the National Gendarmerie, Police and Ex Service Men, to the civilian parade involving primary and secondary schools as well as vocational training institutions. Also, socio-professional and cultural groups also took part in the march-past and dancing activities, giving the event a cultural touch and highlighting the sense of living together and national unity. Pupils and students all march-past with the national flag as a symbol to the attachment to State institutions and the President of the Republic.
