2024 African Women’s Handball Championship : Cameroon Team Continues Preparations

The Lionesses arrived the economic capital on Saturday November 2, 2024 for the second phase of their training camp.

The Cameroon senior national women’s handball team has relocated to Douala to ramp up their preparations for the upcoming 2024 African Women’s Handball Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the Democratic Republic of Congo from November 26 to December 4, 2024.
The squad arrived in the economic capital on Saturday, November 2, 2024, to commence the second phase of their training camp. After honing their skills at the Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde, the Lionesses are now set to utilize the state-of-the-art facilities at the Japoma Sports Complex gymnasium; which puts them in the best conditions to attain earmarked objectives during the intense training sessions.
Under the guidance of their coaching staff, headed by newly appointed Serge Magala, the team is expected to undergo rigorous training sessions twice daily, aiming to peak their performance ahead of the continental showdown. About 20 players are currently involved in the training camp, with additional professionals expected to join the squad as the tournament draws nearer. It should be recalled that 34 players were shortlisted to take part in the preparatory camp ahead of the African showpiece.
