Bamenda : Chantal Biya Offers Christmas Gifts

North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique presided at the Christmas Tree-lighting ceremony at the Government English Primary School “FCB Les Champions” on December 12, 2024.


Cameroon's First Lady, Mrs Chantal Biya through her humanitarian organization, The Chantal Biya Foundation has given smiles and joy to some 800 pupils in the North West Region. Indeed, the pupils received gifts counting for the 2024 end- of – year festivities in a Christmas Tree- lighting ceremony at the Government English Primary School “FCB Les Champions “ in Upstation Bamenda I Subdivision on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
 Madam Jaji Mbah Rose the Coordinator of the First Lady’s activities in the Ministry of Basic Education said the gifts consisted of didactic materials, snacks, toys among others. The beneficiaries were vulnerable children who ranged from orphans, Internally displaced persons and children with other physical challenges.
Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique who presided at the event also launched the phase of handling over the gifts proper to the beneficiary pupils.  He said the gifts translated the concern of the Father and Mother of the Nation to the vulnerable population of the North West Region.  The Governor expressed gratitude to the presidential couple for what they are on a daily basis to relieve the suffering of the population.
The ceremony was attend by the top brass of the North West administration, some Members of the National Assembly and Senators, Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) party officials, religious and traditional authorities. Some of the officials took turns to hand the gifts to the highly elated beneficiaries who were assisted by their teachers.
