Bilateral Relations : Cameroon, Qatar Strengthen Cooperation

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella yesterday granted an audience to the Ambassador of Qatar to Cameroon, Ali Bin Ghanem Hajri, who is resident in Abuja.


The Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella on January 22, 2025 granted an audience to the Ambassador of Qatar to Cameroon, Ali Bin Ghanem Hajri, with residence in Abuja. Discussions during the audience focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Cameroon and the Middle-East country.
Speaking to the press after the audience, the Abuja-based Qatari diplomat said cooperation ties between the two countries is good and there are prospects of broadening aspects of collaboration. The Ambassador added that there are plans on receiving a Cameroonian delegation in Doha in the near future, within the context of enhancing the bridge of cooperation. A Qatari delegation is equally expected in Cameroon. With the audience coming less than a week after the visit of Cameroon’s Minister of Transport to Qatar where he signed an aviation agreement with his Qatari counterpart allowing for the designated airlines of the two countries to operate unlimited and unrestricted traffic rights for both passenger and cargo flights, the Ambassador said the audience was an opportunity to examine other opportunities of collaboration. When questioned on the timeframe in which Qatar Airways will begin flying the skies of Cameroon and Camair-Co likewise, the Head of Mission said the agreement goes operational in the near future.
