National Olympic and Sports Committee: Major Projects Envisaged For 2025

I t was an exceptional day at the National Olympic and Sport Committee (CNOSC) in Nkol Eton, Yaounde on Friday, January 31, 2025. The event was a ceremony to present New Year wishes to the President of the National Olympic and Sports Committee, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum. The New Year wishes ceremony was an occasion for the members of the national Olympic movement to reflect on the activities of the past year and plan for the future. Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary General of the CNOSC, David Ojong, gave an exhaustive balance sheet of the activities of the institution for 2024. For his part, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum said 2024 was a particular year for the Cameroon Olympic Movement given that it marked the 60th anniversary of Cameroon’s participation at the Olympic Games. Also, during the same year Team Cameroon participated at the same time at the African Games in 2023 in Accra and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Apart from that 2024 was the year of the DIXIADES Games that took place in Yaounde in December as well as the qualification of the Indomitable Lions for the Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Morocco in 2025. For 2025, the first edition of the African School Games in Algeria, the African Youth Games in Angola and the Islamic Solidarity Games in November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia are the major international competitions that that CNOSC is targeting for the Cameroonian athletes to put up an honourable performance.
