Fabian Ekukwe Lyonga, a Cameroonian native from the Fako and Kupe-Muanenguba Divisions of the South West Region is an educator, advocate, and visionary leader in youth empowerment. He is known for his contributions to education, governance, and skills development especially among young people in the country. His dreams are being brought into reality through the many institutions he has founded amongst which the Lyonga Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), an institution that encompasses vocational and primary education training in Cameroon. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the United Council for Youth Empowerment (UCYE), a youth-led organisation with a presence in both Cameroon and the United States. Through these platforms, he actively works to bridge the gap between education, vocational training, and employment, ensuring that young people-especially those in Cameroon and the Diaspora, have access to meaningful opportunities.
“My leadership extends to international cultural exchanges, fostering partnerships between the Cameroonian and American governments, civil society organizations, and global institutions,” Fabien Lyonga stated. While in the Diaspora, he initiated the Network for Cameroon Diaspora Youth and Cameroon Student Union Abroad (CAMSUA) to mobilize Cameroonian youth abroad, responding to the call for greater Diaspora engagement in national development.
