South West: Ghanaians Urged To Remain Law-Abiding

The Honorary Consul of Ghana, Muffih Donald Akumbu also promised to facilitate in making their stay legal in Cameroon.
His Excellency Muffih Donald Akumbu, Honorary Consul of Ghana to Cameroon has told Ghanaians that his mission to Cameroon is to ensure that every Ghanaian living in this country, whether in the bustling cities, the coastal towns, or the remote villages, feels heard, valued, and supported. He had his maiden visit in the South West at Idenau on Friday, February 21, 2025, where he was welcomed by jubilant Ghana fishing community. The fishing port of Idenau hosts above 800 Ghanaians who are fishermen and their wives, fishmongers. He told Ghanaians that the visit to Idenau reflects his genuine interest in their welfare. “The relationship between Ghana and Cameroon is one that has been matured over the years, strengthened by our shared commitment to peace, cooperation, and regional integration. This is a partnership built on mutual respect and shared aspirations for a prosperous Africa,” he said. Earlier, Isaac Petteh Sogbodjor, President of Ghanaians community in Idenau, told the Honorary Consul that a cordial relationship exists between them and Cameroonians. That they are most respectful and law-abiding. As such, the doors of local administrators are open to them. “Honorable Consul, we bring to your notice few challenges facing us here. We would be pleased if our consulate cards can be made authentic for making residence permit,” he pointed. Sogbodjor complained...
