United Nations Human Rights Council : MINREX Represents Cameroon In Geneva

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella is participating at the 58th session of the rights institution that began on February 24, 2025 in Switzerland.

The Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella is leading the Cameroonian delegation at the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council holding in Geneva. The regular session of the Council which began on February 24, 2025 will span through April 4, 2025. But first, it features a high-level segment meeting from February 24-26, 2025 with dignitaries from more than 100 member States scheduled to address the Council.
The session of February 24 took place under the Presidency of Ambassador Jürg Lauber of Switzerland. Statements at the opening were made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres; the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Philemon Yang; the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk; as well as the Chief of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis
External Relations Minister is amongst those holding interactive dialogues with the High Commissioner for Human Rights and general debates on the global situation of human rights.  
Yesterday’s agenda (February 25) featured a biennial high-level panel on death penalty. Conclusions are expected to be made today February 26 during the general debates.
