Kate Fotso : The “Cocoa Bean” Iron Lady

Named the richest women in Cameroon by Forbes Africa, the native from the South West Region has been in the Cocoa Industry for over 20 years.

Kate Fotso, also known as Mrs. Kate Kanyi-Tometi Fotso, is a Cameroonian businesswoman who occupies a prominent place in the African business world. She has managed to rise to the rank of one of the most influential personalities on the African continent thanks to her remarkable journey in the cocoa bean sector for over 20 years. Today, she is called the “Iron Lady” of the cocoa sector in Cameroon and beyond. 
According to Jeune Afrique magazine, Kate Kanyi-Tometi Fotso does not like to talk about herself, but her business dealings give a sense to her personality.  As the founder and leader of TELCAR Cocoa, Cameroon’s leading cocoa exporter, Kate Fotso has made significant contributions to the cocoa sector in the country. She introduced several innovations in the industry, including organising farmers into cooperatives and providing multiple trainings to improve their skills.
