Buea : Women Celebrate In Grand Style

The 40th edition of the International Women's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Buea, capital of the South West Region. The event, chaired by Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, brought together thousands of women from various professional sectors. Celebrated under the theme: "For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment," Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai emphasized the crucial role of women in development and the need for stronger collaboration between men and women. He encouraged women to be proactive in contributing to society. 
‘‘Nowadays, there is no longer a field that is not opened to women. They have to take their destiny into their hands. The Head of State has made it possible for gender equality to be a reality in our country’’, South West Governor stated.
On her part, the South West Regional Delegate for Women's Empowerment and the Family, Lucia Ediage Sona, commended the progress women have made in politics, business, and education.
