Presidential Reconstruction Plan : Health Centre Rehabilitated, Equipped In NW

Inhabitants of Ntankah neighbourhood in the Bamenda II Municipality are celebrating the efforts of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD) through its partners to bring health care closer to the people. On March 18, 2025, the United Nations Development Programme, implementing partner of the Plan, officially handed over a rehabilitated integrated health centre and medical equipment to the Ntankah community funded by ‘Boissons du Cameroun’ (SABC). 
Around to witness the event   was the Inspector General at the Governor’s Office, Ekale Ignatius representing Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique, the Regional Delegate of Public Health Dr Ambe Lionel Neba and his colleague of Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Buinda  Godlove who is also the  Regional Coordinator of the PPRD. 
The rehabilitation work included the doctor's examination room, pre-natal examination room, delivery room, theatre, post-natal ward, changing and toilets. Meanwhile, the Medical equipment included laboratory equipment, pharmacy, labour room, incubator, hospital beds, mattresses, operating table, lamps wheel chairs and office items. 
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Mary Nyuyinui, the NW Regional Coordinator of UNDP said it was an event to honour a significant step forward in the collective effort to improve health care access in the North West Region. Adding that it was a moment of hope and progress for the people of Ntankah and neighbouring quarters.
