Fight Against Terrorism : Greater Mobilisation, More Vigilance

Minister Joseph Beti Assomo on a working visit in Mora yesterday delivered the condolence and comfort message of the Head of State to officers following the attack in Wulgo on March 25.


On the night of March 24-25, 2025, the locality of Wulgo, a border town of Fotokol in the Logone and Chari Division of Far-North Region was subject to an attack by the Boko Haram sect. A balance sheet of the attack indicate that 12 soldiers lost their lives while defending the territorial integrity of the country. Others were wounded and are receiving medical attention.
Faced with the situation, the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, instructed the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo to carry out a working visit to the region. "It is with particular emotion that I arrive once again here at the Command Post of Sector I of the Multinational Joint Task Force of the Lake Chad Basin Commission to convey to you the message of condolence, comfort and encouragement from the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” stated the Minister, as he addressed senior officers, officers and non-commissioned officers of the post. 
While deploring the barbaric act, the Minister also used the opportunity to salute the bravery of the Cameroonian forces who are working relentlessly to ensure that peace and security reigns. The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence added that orchestrators of terrorist actions and organised crimes in the Lake Chad Basin area are developing new techniques in their various attacks.  "The use of artificial intelligence and the sophistication of the enemy's resources on the battlefield call on us to update our logistics and equipment to avoid further damaging surprises", Minister Joseph Beti Assomo stated.
