Local Governance : Mbonge Council, Population In Synergy

The Office of Public Independent Conciliator for the South West on April 3, 2025 reminded each party on their role in enhancing development.

Inhabitants of Mbonge municipality and their council staff have saluted the Office of Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) for the South West Region for reminding them of their obligations towards one another. This was in a town hall meeting at the Mbonge Council chambers on Thursday, April 3, 2025, summoned by OPIC. Enotambe Beltha, trader in the Mbonge Market, who complained of their sheds not having staircase and making it difficult for their customers to access their goods was assured that the steps will be constructed when all the earmarked sheds in the market are done. Together with other traders, she was told to always take their complaints to the mayor in case the market mistress does not attend to them. 
The Mayor of Mbonge, Chief Daniel Matta Mokambe, said his council administration has an open door policy. He assured the huge gathering that the council will step up its services delivery in the different departments in order to continuously satisfy users. At the end of the meeting, Enotambe Beltha told the press that she is satisfied with the mayor opening his doors to them. “He told us that in case the market mistress does not attend to us, we should come to him directly,” she explained.
