GITEX Africa 2025 : Cameroonian Startups Showcase Potential

A number of tech firms championed by young Cameroonian entrepreneurs are finding their feet in an increasingly burgeoning ecosystem in Africa.

A handful of Cameroonian startups in the technological space are among the more than 1,400 firms from over 130 countries exhibiting their technological innovation prowess at the ongoing GITEX Africa conference in Marrakech, Morocco. The event, which officially kicked off on April 14,2025 with thousands of visitors coming around, is serving as a connecting point for these startups in the continent to not only display their digital products and services, but also to find opportunities to establish critical collaborative networks and even funding openings.
One of the Cameroonians whose startup is present in Morocco is Claude Dimo, a data scientist. He is the founder and CEO of Studirium, a platform that leverages the power of AI to facilitate learning by students. Developed five years ago out of the need to bridge the digital learning challenges faced in Cameroon and other African countries, Dimo says the platform already has presence in Cameroon, Chad and France, with plans to expand their market foothold to other African countries. Studirium is not only present in Marrakech, but the startup has also qualified for the semi-finals of the SuperNova challenge 2.0, an early-stage startup pitch competition at GITEX Africa which provides an opportunity for young African entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ventures to a global audience.<...
