Improving Military Health : Services Scientific Day Raises Awareness

This was during a scientific Day which took place on Saturday April 19 in Douala.

After a week-long free medical campaign open to the general public, the Second Region Military Hospital in Douala organised a one-day scientific day on Saturday 19 April with the main aim of opening up military health services to the world. During the various presentations, military medical experts presented their services and some complicated cases they have dealt with, both from the public and the military. It was also a moment for the military health experts to reveal the successes during the week-long health campaign. Different themes were created from topics such as Head and Neck Pathologies, Chest and Limb Pathologies, Abdominal and Pelvic Pathologies, Hospital Activities of the Military Health Services, Military Medical and Social Services and Free Communication.
According to Colonel Dr Koki Godfroy, Director of the Second Region Military Hospital, the purpose of the scientific day was to improve communication between the different doctors within the five military hospitals in Cameroon and to ensure that each one understands and knows the competencies of the others. Secondly, he said, the day was to raise awareness of the health services provided by the military to the public.
