Third Term: Effective Classes, Assessment Exams

The last and shortest term of the academic year began nationwide yesterday April 22, 2025.

C urtains for the third and final term of the academic year have been rolled out nationwide. The educational community effectively began the term in earnest yesterday April 22 after a two-week Easter break. While those in official examination classes took off with the writing of “Mock” (assessment exams), others in different classes carried on with their usual class timetable. During general assemblies to begin the term in most schools, focus was placed on the significance of the period which is that of reflection, resolution and results, by students and educators to ensure academic success and moral uprightness. Yesterday April 22, 2025 at about 8:30 a.m. when Cameroon Tribune (CT) reporters visited the Government High School Nsam Efoulan, serenity reigned as students undertook lessons in their various classrooms. Those in official examination classes were writing the Centre Regional assessment test in preparation for the end-of-course examinations which will begin before the end of the mouth. Science students in Terminale (Tle) which is equivalent to Upper Sixth in the English sub-system of education were writing the Mathematics assessment test. Meanwhile those in the Arts section will begin today with the Literature subject. In front of the school gate could be seen a handful of students who had been denied entrance. According to the gatekeeper, the students were not properly dressed and had not shaved or plaited their hair as required. The Principal of Government High School Nsam Efoulan, Marie Nicole Essamba Efouba during the early morning general assembly reminded students of the importance of the term which is short and decisive.
