Semi-Marathon : Nkul Nnam Kenneth Mburu, Ngassam Are Winners

The athlete from Kenya finished the 21km race in 1h12’23” during the fifth edition of the competition that took place in Yaounde on Saturday April 26, 2025.
The esplanade of the Yaounde City Council was in a festive mood on Saturday April 26, 2025. The event was the fifth edition of the International Nkul Nam Half Marathon Masters Athletics. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation, the competition brought together over 1,000 athletes from 10 countries in Africa and Europe. The Nkul Nnam half marathon was equally in line with activities to mark celebrations for the International Labour Day in Cameroon. The athletes competed in the half marathon race and the popular race. The half marathon race covered a distance of 21km and the popular race of 10km along some major streets in Yaounde.
It all began with a keep fit exercise led by sports experts from the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) in Yaounde. At the end of the race, Kenneth Mburu Mungara, from Kenya emerged overall winner finishing the race in 1h12’23”. After his victory Kenneth Mburu said it was a tough race but he thanked God because he was able to make it. He said he hopes to be back next year. He was followed by Jude Leka in 1h12’24” and Nyame Roland in 1h18’20” all from Cameroon. In the senior women’s category, Sandrine Ngassam Nya won the race in 2h1’57” while Sarah Etonge was second in 1h18’20”. Kambi Martina completed the table for the women’s competition.
