African Women’s Futsal Cup : Cameroon Wins Bronze

The national women’s futsal team won bronze in the first edition of the African Women’s Futsal Cup that ended in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday April 30, 2025. The futsal Lionesses defeated Angola 4-1 in the third-place final to secure a place on the podium. After they were beaten by Tanzania 3-2 in the semi-finals, the Lionesses did not give up but were rather determined to bounce back. That is exactly what they did on Wednesday and that paid off as they carried home the victory. The girls of Coach Louis René Epée put up remarkable performances. The Cameroonians dominated the match thanks to goals from Beulou, a brace from Elam, and a superb strike from team captain, Yvana Mbomozomo. This attacking performance underlines the team's determination and talent.
The victory was the second for Cameroon in the tournament out of the four games they played. It equally confirms their spot among Africa’s futsal elite.
