South West : Regional Assembly, PROLOG Blend To Enhance Local Development

A convention with FCFA 1.27 billion on the table was supervised by the Minister of Decentralization and Local development.

Development strides in the South West Region have received fresh impetus. This follows a convention penned by South West Regional Assembly and Local Governance and Resilient Communities Project (PROLOG) in Buea on April 29, 2025. The convention was penned by the National Coordinator of PROLOG, Edielle Ngwa Jackson and President of South West Regional Assembly, Elango Zacheus Bakoma under the watchful eyes of the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development, Elanga Obam and Michel Pascal, a representative of the World Bank.
Per the agreement, PROLOG put at the disposal of the South West Regional Assembly FCFA 1 127 432 833. The Regional Assembly will use the money in the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge of 12m span over river Mbabe 2. This will include the pavement of its access at PK6+780 linking the-communal road of Nsuke-Mbabe-Ngusi Nyandong in Tombel and Konye Subdivisons of Kupe Muanenguba Division and Meme Division. There will also be the construction and equipment of imaging Centers at the Mamfe District Hospital in Manyu Division and Kumba Regional Hospital Annex in Kumba, Meme Division. Finally, it shall construct a pedagogic block at GHS Limbe consisting of eight classrooms, four offices and four toilets.
