National Unity : Cameroon’s Cultural Diversity Celebrated

The National Crossroads of Cameroonians Living-together unfolded in Yaounde under the auspices of the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, on May 16, 2025.

The spirit of national unity and cultural pride reached a high point in Yaounde as the National Museum hosted a landmark event dubbed “The Programme of the National Crossroads of Cameroonians Living-Together,” better known by its French appellation “Carrefour Du Vivre Ensemble” The celebration, which brought together government officials, traditional rulers, and international partners, served as a reminder of Cameroon’s multicultural identity and the importance of peaceful coexistence.
Graced by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education and a representative from the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, the event was both reflective and forward-looking. As the country marked its National Unity Week, the gathering aimed to reinforce the values of living together in harmony. In his closing remarks, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, emphasized the critical role of unity in national development. “Living together is not just a slogan. It is a tool for building our country. I salute all traditional leaders and personalities who joined this magical celebration,” he stated.
Professor Daniel Anicet Noah, a key-note speaker at the event, offered a compelling analysis of the historical roots of coexistence challenges in Cameroon. “Cameroon is a country of migration.
