Bokwaongo-Membea Village: Chief Albert Njie Mbonde On Throne

Following his coronation on June 7, 2025, he is the fifth monarch to rule the village found in Buea Subdivision.

A new traditional ruler reigns on the throne of Bokwaongo-Membea Village in Buea Subdivision. He is HRM Chief Albert Njie Mbonde. He fully ascended the throne on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Bokwaongo-Membea Village Square known as Pala Pala Field. The purely Bakweri cultural ceremony was spearheaded by Fako Chiefs. The Maley secret society with its elephant dance summoned rain from the inner chambers of ‘Efasa Moto’ (Bakweri deity) from Mount Cameroon and showered the newly enthroned chief with. The event streamed live on national television, CRTV Sport and Entertainment channel, had hundreds of guests. The Paramount Ruler of Buea, Chief Dr. Robert Esuka Endeley, walking bare feet explained that three brothers from Mbomboko village founded Buea, Bokwaongo and Bonakanda.
