Mixed Martial Arts : Ngannou’s PFL Africa Announces Second Event

After the launch event on July 19 in Cape Town, South Africa, fighters will immediately begin preparing for the next event on August 9 in Johannesburg.

In the coming months, South Africa will be bustling with Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). This is because Francis Ngannou’s Professional Fighters League Africa has announced another event for August 9, 2025, in Johannesburg. This event will take place after the inaugural event on July 19, 2025, in Cape Town that will launch the PFL Africa tournament. It is thus going to be back-to-back events that will keep the Mixed Martial Arts scene on the continent vibrant.
According to the June 10, 2025 communique announcing this second event, these bouts will take place at the prestigious Big Top Arena, Carnival City. "Fans on August 9 can witness Africa’s top MMA talent clash in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions as the inaugural tournament continues toward crowning the first-ever PFL Africa Champions," the communique adds.
