Cameroon-FAO : Resident Representative Hands Credentials

The newly designated Resident Representative of the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), Antonio Luís Évora Ferreira Querido has presented his lettres of introduction to the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. This was during an audience the latter granted the former on July 1, 2025. 
During the audience, the Resident Representative reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with the government of Cameroon to end hunger, improve nutrition and build resilient, sustainable agricultural systems in the country.  Appointed on April 18, 2025, Antonio Luís Évora Ferreira Querido has over 30 years of experience in national and international development, with deep expertise in agricultural policy, environmental systems analysis, and sustainable rural development. 
Prior to his appointment in Cameroon, he served as FAO Representative in Uganda for over six years (from 2018), where he significantly expanded the country office’s programme portfolio, spearheaded South-South Cooperation initiatives with China, and led major interventions on climate change resilience, food systems transformation, and women’s economic empowerment. Between 2016 and 2018, he was FAO’s Chief Technical Advisor in Angola and his principal mission was focusing on building climate-resilient agro-pastoral systems through Farmer Field Schools.
