North West Development : Prospects With Presidential Reconstruction Plan

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute in Bamenda on July 4, 2025 presented some achievements, upcoming projects and gave instructions to accelerate implementation process.
The population of the North West Regions since July 4, 2025 are looking forward with great enthusiasm to more socio-economic development of projects expected to improve on their living conditions. This follows the seventh session of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD-NW/SW) that took place at the Bamenda Congress Hall with projects announced and instructions given for the acceleration of their implementation.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute who is the Supervisory Authority of the PPRD had the high approval of the President of the Republic to be present at session and convey the President’s warm greetings to the indomitable people of the North West Region. It was an occasion for the Prime Minister who presided at the session to give some of the achievements of the Presidential Reconstruction Plan. He told the North West population during the session, “Coming to Bamenda was an imperative duty for me. During my last visit, I announced the resumption of the rehabilitation works on the Babadjou- Bamenda road and the beginning of the construction of the Ring Road. Today, the rehabilitation project is a reality and work on the Ring Road is ongoing. In the same vain and under the auspices of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Water Resources and Energy represented me in Bamenda to inaugurate the ultra- modern gas plant in Bamenda I.” In other sectors, the Prime Minister indicated that, “Five years later, the results of the recovery phase speak for themselves. Indeed, the rehabilitation of basic social infrastructure has notably improved, access to education for nearly 30,000 students, access to healthcare for more than 15,000 patients per month and access to drinking water for more than 300,000 people. Regarding the reconstruction and development phases, the major road projects currently underway are enabling better connectivity between localities in the two regions by helping to open up economic production areas.”
