Civic Education : Youth To Promote Peaceful Coexistence

Over 150 youths are being trained on moral values and the importance of living together in Yaounde.

Ahead of the October 12 presidential elections, 150 young people from across the Centre Region have been tapped to serve as ambassadors of electoral education. Their mission is to promote peaceful coexistence within their communities, ensuring Cameroonians can live without disruption before, during, and after the elections. This initiative was announced by Taossi, General Manager of the National Civic Service Agency for Participation and Development, during a visit to the training centre for the 2025 National Civic Service Conscript class in the Centre Region yesterday, August 6, 2025. 
In a celebratory atmosphere, Taossi addressed the youth, saying, "Are you aware that Cameroon is approaching the Presidential elections on October 12? As such, you must play a pivotal role in sensitizing the population to uphold the values of peace that have always defined us as Cameroonians." He stressed the importance of internalizing the values and knowledge gained during the training and applying them consistently in their daily lives. "Carry the training with you wherever you go and let its principles radiate throughout your communities," Taossi emphasized.
Upon arrival at the Government High School Mballa II training centre, the General Manager and his team conducted a tour of the training halls where young people were engaged in various courses.
