North West : Electoral Materials Being Prepared

Officials of the Elections Cameroon have intensified distribution of voters cards while getting materials ready.

As the October 12, 2025 presidential election day draws nearer, the elections governing institution, Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), from the national right down to council branch levels are intensifying preparations to ensure that the material preparation and the entire polling operation go on hitch-free.
The Bamenda 1 Council Branch of ELECAM which is the nerve centre of electoral process in the North West Region has adopted beehive activities to ensure total success. The Bamenda 1 ELECAM Council Branch head Yaya Saidou Jibrill told Cameroon Tribune in their Up-station office this August 12, 2025 that they have been cleaning electoral materials. He said they have 80 transparent ballot boxes and 40 polling booths they have all cleaned.  The materials are carefully parked in one room in the office waiting to be used in the polling operation. Mr Yaya Saidou also indicated that one of their activities is to ensure the serenity and appropriateness of public structures where polling stations will be hosted. To ascertain their preparedness and in order to avoid last minute embarrassment, he said, that he will accompany the Mezam Divisional Branch head of ELECAM, Barrister Dinga Lang Peter for an inspection visit of the structures within this week.
