Post-Electoral Period: CPRSR Party champions Peace and Reconciliation

In a press conference organised in Douala on October 21, the Cameroon Party for Peace, Reconciliation, Stability and Reconstruction (CPRSR), has called on all national stakeholders to prioritize dialogue, peace, and national healing in the aftermath of the October 12, 2025, presidential election. Party authorities stated that the recent election, while demonstrating the nation's democratic spirit, have also highlighted profound national weaknesses, distrust, and suspicion. But party members emphasized that Cameroon must move "beyond the results" and its internal disparities. The CPRSR positions itself as a new platform created specifically to foster a more "peaceful and patriotic political consciousness", centered on reconciliation, dialogue, and national reconstruction. CPRSR National President, Mr. Kamdoum Brice Gervais, distanced the party from any specific religious doctrine. While acknowledging a “divine vision”, he said that the CPRSR’s mandate is non-denominational and focuses on promoting human dignity, dialogue, and social justice. Mr. Kamdoum stated that the party is not out to change the nation’s historical vision of “Peace, Work, Father land,” but to ensure that citizens are not “used as shields” for others’ goals.
