The numerical strength of young people and women in Cameroon is such that a rational attention to their pressing needs is in effect, focus on the urgent issues concerning all Cameroonians. 
Besides the common challenge of poverty alleviation, the raising of living standards through the provision of road infrastructure, prerequisites of transformation of raw materials, modernisation of agriculture and raising of the standards of education, Cameroonians, young and old suffer the panks of corruption, insecurity, tribalism, and various effects of misappropriation.
By declaring that he understands the gravity of the numerous and severe challenges we face, the depth and scale of frustrations and compatriots’ scale of expectations, Paul Biya, in effect, declared how concerned, he is about the alteration of negative trends, and the urgency to authenticate the slogan of Greatness and Hope. But what does this entail?
‘’ I am therefore appealing for a united front. Join me so that together we can in peace and harmony, meet the daunting challenges facing our country.’’ What an honest appeal from a leader who is aware of the fact no matter his degree of shrewdness, wisdom and experience much cannot be achieved without the effective cooperation of citizens.
