Commonwealth Enterprise, Investment Council : Fostering Shared Prosperity

An annual strategic meeting on accelerating local development took place yesterday December 4, 2025 at the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance.
Members and partners of the Commonwealth Enterprise, Investment Council (CWEIC) Regional Hub for Cameroon, Gabon and Togo, meeting yesterday December 4, 2025 at the premises of the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM) in their annual get-together have evaluated the path covered and prospects in accelerating decentralisation and local development. This meeting comes on the heels of reforms taken by the Council to improve trade and investments within the sub region, and thus boosting democratic, economic and environmental resilience. The objective of the meeting was to take stock of reforms and the five-year strategic plan of the Commonwealth Secretariat, as well as conduct an evaluation of 2025 engagements between CWEIC and strategic partners. It also provided an avenue for stakeholders to draw an action plan for 2026 and identify networking opportunities in other Commonwealth countries, while ensuring that national institutions and businesses capture these opportunities in their 2026 agenda. The inaugural address at the event was delivered by the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof. Nalova Lyonga who highlighted the strategic collaboration the Ministry shares with the institution in speeding digital education.
Highlighting the fact that Cameroon is preparing to commemorate its 30 years of membership within the Gentlemen’s Club, the Minister said partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise, Investment Council has been impactful with significant increase in human and capital development.
