Cameroon Ballon d’Or: Finalists Unveiled

The enlarged shortlists have been trimmed to three in each category, with the winners to be unveiled on February 27, 2026, in Yaounde.

From the initial 11, only three players have been retained for the race to overthrow John Bosco Nchindo as the new Cameroonian Ballon d’Or. Concretely, Boris Mfoumou, Konrad Nfanseu, and Serge Daura are the finalists for the 2025 Cameroon Ballon d’Or in the MTN Elite category. The Cameroon Football Federation published the final shortlist on its official social media handles over the weekend. Back to the men’s Ballon d’Or award, Serge Daura; equally the best scorer (15 goals) of the previous MTN Elite One season with Gazelle of Garoua; is among the favourites to lift the prestigious award, even though his club did not win the championship. Daura is equally one of the finalists for the Revelation of the Season category. Konrad Nfanseu, is also a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or award. He was one of the major pillars of Panthère Sportive of Nde’s beautiful season, finishing runner-up in the championship and winners of the Cup of Cameroon. To close the list is Boris Mfoumou, who greatly contributed to AS Fortuna’s maintenance in the Elite One championship last season. Unfortunately, Hamza Hamidou and goalkeeper Idrissou Nfor Finia, who won the championship last season with Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo, did not make the final three as concerns the MTN Elite Ballon d’or.
