Enhancing Cultural Diversity: Diplomats Savour Cameroonian Cuisine

A gastronomy day organised at the Ministry of External Relations on March 6, 2026 presented homebased culinary skills to leaders of international organisations and foreign countries.

The courtyard of the Ministry of External Relations on March 6, 2026 was filled with stands of the various departments of the Ministry, exhibiting the country’s culinary skills to diplomats. The event chaired by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, saw the participation of the Embassy of Brazil, showcasing its cuisine to Cameroonians. Amongst the diplomats who attended the fair was the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, MarieClaude Harvey. Organised by the Association of Dynamic Women in Diplomacy (DYFEDCAM), in partnership with the Ministry of External Relations, the event had the objective of presenting culinary traditions and food practices of various regions of the country, which reflect and portray Cameroon’s cultural diversity. Besides elegantly showcasing national dishes, the different stands also presented the peculiarities of the different regions of Cameroon, with each department briefly highlighting its diplomatic activities at the bilateral or multilateral levels.
