Combined Services Military Academ: 40th Batch Ready To Serve Fatherland

Christened “Peace, Integration and Development”, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence chaired the graduation ceremony on March 13, 2026 in Yaounde.

At the behest of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, chaired the graduation ceremony of the 40th batch of the Combined Services Military Academy (EMIA) christened “Peace, Integration and Development.” The Minister explained that the significance of the batch name calls on them to preserve the stability of the country, consolidate national unity and contribute in driving the nation towards progress. While congratulating them, Minister Joseph Beti Assomo called on the graduates to defend the territorial integrity of the Fatherland as well as republican institutions. He recalled the current context of security challenges faced by the country in the North West, South West and Far North Regions where armed groups and the Islamic Sect Boko Haram are causing havoc. He saluted the courage and discipline of the defence and security forces who put their lives on the line for the protection of persons and property. It is thus against this backdrop that he called on the graduating officers to carry out their mission with determination and professionalism, consolidating social cohesion and fraternity. The Minister encouraged them to be officers who are just and respectful, while commanding with firmness not forgetting an aspect of humanity.
