"If You See Something, Say Something!" Limbe Police Urge Vigilance Against Armed Assaults Surge

In a recently issued comprehensive security advisory, city residents are strongly urged to adhere to a number of preventive security measures.

The office of the Commissioner of the Limbe Central Police Station, Commissaire Divisionnaire Jean Pierre Simon Nyebe, has issued an urgent call for heightened public vigilance following a series of violent armed attacks that have gripped several neighborhoods in the city in recent days. These incidents, ranging from targeted shootings to robberies involving criminals posing as utility workers, have prompted security forces to activate a city-wide alert and call for immediate community collaboration.

Preventive Measures
In light of these escalating threats, Commissaire Nyebe Simon Pierre has issued a comprehensive security advisory to the population. Residents are strongly urged to adhere to the following preventive measures: Avoid opening gates to unknown persons especially critical during night hours; always confirm the identity of anyone claiming to be technicians or officials before granting them access to a residence, and improve outdoor lighting around homes where possible to deter criminals using darkness as cover.

Suspicious Movements, Activities
Similarly, residents are advised to immediately report suspicious movements or any unusual activities to security forces or local authorities; avoid moving or travelling alone late at night, particularly in poorly lit areas. While neighborhood vigilance and community watch initiatives should be reinforced, the police advised.

Mr. Celestine was rushed to the Limbe Regional Hospital before being transferred to Buea for intensive medical care, where he is currently being treated.

Fake Utility Workers
The shooting was only one of several brazen acts of criminality reported recently. Earlier that same Monday, March 30, at approximately 2:00 pm in Bobende, a sophisticated robbery took place at the residence of Mr. Biyong Simon. In this instance, two individuals wearing overalls and badges resembling those of ENEO workers gained access to the home under suspicious circumstances. Once inside, the suspects assaulted Mr. Simon’s wife at gunpoint and made off with the sum of 480,000 FCFA.

Guard Dogs Targeted
A similar pattern of violence was recorded on Friday, March 27, in the Bussumbu neighborhood. At roughly 7:00 pm, two armed men scaled the perimeter fence of a residence belonging to a SONARA worker identified as
