Within the framework of strengthening ties between Cameroon and its partners, notably China and Turkiye, the Senate President, Aboubakary Abdoulaye granted two separate audiences to the Ambassadors yesterday April 6, 2026. First to be received was the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon, Xu Yong. The maiden one-on-one meeting between the two personalities was part of the ongoing exchanges between the Senate of Cameroon and the People's Republic of China through its diplomatic mission. The audience took place shortly after the election of Aboubakary Abdoulaye to the position of President of the Senate on March 17, was an occasion for Xu Yong to extend his warmest congratulations to the President of Senate and to strengthen the already existing areas of cooperation between the two countries. It should be noted that China and Cameroon maintain strong relations characterised by fruitful exchanges in parliamentary, socio-economic, and logistical fields.
