Local Development: Limbe City Council Unveils Major Road Project

The launch ceremony on June 26, 2026, for the works on Man O’ War Bay-Bimbia-Tiko road project was chaired by the City Mayor, Dr. Paul Efome Mbolle Ngale.

Technical, economic and environmental studies for the construction of the Man O' War Bay–Bimbia– Tiko Road have officially been launched by the Limbe City Council. This first phase of the project marks a major step towards improving connectivity and unlocking the economic potential of Fako Division. The ceremony brought together administrative authorities, traditional rulers, community representatives and other stakeholders from the project area. The 27-kilometre roadwork has a budget of FCFA 251 million, financed by the Limbe City Council (FCFA 164 million) and the Ministry of Public Works (FCFA 86 million). The infrastructure is to be executed by the company; Full Study And Council Sarl. Designed as a second access route into Limbe through Bimbia, upon completion, the road will reduce pressure on the existing highway while improving movement between Limbe, Bimbia, Tiko and neighbouring communities. The infrastructure is also expected to facilitate the transport of agricultural and fishery products, reduce travel time and transport costs, minimise post-harvest losses and attract investments in tourism, agriculture and fisheries.
