CPDM Ruby Jubilee : First Lady Takes Celebration To Countryside

There was no better way the matron of the women’s wing of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (WCPDM) could have commemorated 40 years of the party's existence without displaying the agricultural prowess of what a woman within the party can do as a means to create employment and contribute to nation-building. It is within this backdrop that on the occasion of the party’s anniversary, yesterday, March 24, 2025, she was joined by scores of women within the party to spend a memorable time at her plantation called "Ferme moderne du Sud», located at Mvomeka’a in the South Region. Around the vicinity are cocoa, rubber, palm oil and banana plantations. 
It was indeed a fulfilling day, as visitors were amazed at what goes on in a poultry and livestock industry. At exactly 3:55 p.m., the First Lady, Chantal Biya,  clad in her party attire, made her way into the poultry production sector of the plantation, and was received by the Director General, Gilles Arnaud Wouembe. In a convivial manner, she greeted the workers, while visitors got dressed to enter the different poultry production rooms. The ladies were particularly thrilled as they discovered the farm and the First Lady's interest in poultry farming. 
Amid the filth of chicken waste with flies hovering around the place, the First Lady and her guests spent more than an hour at the poultry farm discovering how a one-day-old chick is produced. From the reproduction stage to the incubation stage which takes 21 days. At another point, the women were happy to package eggs into various egg-trays. It was a pleasant moment as some of them picked newly laid eggs from chicken faeces.
