Fight Against Price Hikes: Population Receive Assurance

The Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has reassured Cameroonians of the availability and affordability of foodstuffs and goods of basic consumption from now on. The Minister was speaking in Douala on June 12, 2025 as he ended a two-day tour of some food processing industries in the economic capital of Douala. The visit from June 11-12 took Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana to some steel, gas bottle production, and food processing industries in the region. From the Douala industrial zone in Bassa to Yassa in the Douala III subdivision, Bomono in the Moungo division, and the Bonaberi industrial zone in Douala IV, in a guided tour, the Minister went inside the different production units to get a feel of the activities. He appreciated their production capacities with top-notch equipment and machines. He reiterated the government's encouragement regarding the activities carried out by local and multinational industries in the country's economic development and emergence. The minister was impressed with the production of gas bottles at PROMETAL. He said this has come to put an end to the importation of gas bottles as well as put an end to the frequent shortage of gas bottles that was common in recent years.
