Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship: Semi-finals Ticket Booked

P ressure, suspense and even tension characte­ rised the quarter-final match that pitted Cameroon against Ghana on September 21, 2026, in Tunis, Tunisia. Every single second of that game of the 2026 Senior Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship counted, as both sides showed the determina­ tion and willingness to book a semi-finals ticket. In the end, Cameroon maintained its com­ posure to take home the vic­ tory 3 sets to 2, synonymous to a place in the Final Four. The Volleyball Lions began the game on a good footing, sho­ wing superiority over their op­ ponents by avoiding careless faults. Towards the end of the set that ended 25–21, the Gha­ naians looked to have maste­ red the Cameroonian play and began threatening to catch up, but the Lions finally trium­ phed. The Ghanaians took over the second set, and Cameroon was barely behind on the score. Despite their efforts, the Gha­ naians won the second set 25–19. The third set looked to be the set of doom. The Lions appeared to have lost their mental might and let the Gha­ naians roll on. Cameroon pre­ sented a visible lack of cohe­ sion, approximate passes and setting, unforgivable service errors and hesitations during receptions from the opponent. However, the Lions put on a great comeback from a 7-point deficit (9–16) and were on the verge of extending the set (23–24) when Ghana took the set point to win it 25–23.
