Buea Central Prison West: Moslem Inmates Receive Food For Fasting

Buea (Fako) Over 60 Moslem inmates in the Buea Central Prison were on June 5, 2018 given food items and materials to accompany them in this year’s Ramadan fasting.

The items that comprised of 12 kettles, 5 bathing buckets, 40 Qur’an, moral Islamic books, 8 bags of 50 Kg rice, 2 cartoons of soap, 2 cartoons of vegetable oil, 2 bags of salt etc were handed to them during a religious service, led by the Imam of the Buea Central Mosque, Alhadji Mohammed Aboubakar, and accompanied by the Imams of Muea and Miles 17 Mosques with a host of Buea Moslem community. The Clerics implored Allah's blessings on the inmates during this difficult period in confinement.

Alhadji Mohammed Aboubakar said that giving to the inmates during this period of fasting indicates sharing which is one of the pillars of Islam. “We came to tell you that this is an opportunity for you to pray that Allah pardons your sins for those that committed crimes.

At times being in detention might even be a means for Allah to preserves one’s life, which would have been otherwise in freedom,” he preached. He cited from the Holy Qu’ran how Joseph was imprisoned for no just cause but Allah prepared him for a higher office. ...
