2025 CAF Champions League : Colombe Breakthrough

Following their 1-0 victory against ASC Jaraaf in Thiès on September 28, 2025, the Cameroonian club sealed its spot in the second preliminary round.


Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo made history in their first participation by advancing to the second preliminary round of the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League, following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Senegal's ASC Jaraaf at the Stade Lat Dior in Thiès on September 28, 2025. This triumph is significant as it breaks a frustrating two-season streak during which no Cameroonian club had succeeded in advancing beyond the first preliminary round in the competition. 
After a goalless draw in the first leg held in Yaounde, Colombe and ASC Jaraaf entered the return leg under considerable pressure to secure a winning goal. ASC Jaraaf, playing in front of their home crowd, adopted an aggressive approach from the outset, eager to leverage their home advantage in order to qualify for the next stage. However, the resilient squad from Cameroon’s South Region, expertly coached by Richard Towa, remained composed and successfully absorbed the early intensity of the Senegalese attack.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 60th minute when Adam Musah of Colombe scored the lone goal of the encounter for Colombe. This decisive goal not only secured a 1-0 win but also gave Colombe a 1-0 aggregate victory, marking an important milestone in the club’s debut campaign in the prestigious CAF Champions League.
