CDC : PM Supervises Payment of Salary Areas

The official launching of the payment exercise of the balance of the salary arears for CDC workers amounting to FCFA 15.6 billion took place yesterday October 7 under the watchful eyes of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute.
The payment of the remaining more than FCFA 15.65 Billions salary arears owed workers of the Cameroon Development Corporation between 2018 and 2022 is now effective. The payment exercise launched in Limbe on Tuesday October 7, was supervised by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute. The payment of the remaining 44 per cent of salary arears follows the disbursement of the funds few weeks ago, on instructions of the Head of State, President Paul Biya. The first phase of the payment exercise of the accrued salary arears took place in December 2024 when President Paul Biya again ordered for the disbursement of FCFA 20 billion. The last phase of FCFA 15.6 billion completes the total salary arears of CDC workers for the period which stood at FCFA 35.75 billion.
The official launching of the payment exercise translates government’s commitment to revive the State-owned agro-industry giant which suffered from the nefarious effects of the armed separatist attacks in the North West and South West Regions. Prime Minister Dion Ngute while addressing the circa 20,000 employees of the CDC stated that “It is a promised fulfilled by the Head of State.” The PM emphasized that the magnanimity of the President of the Republic is an act for the future because the CDC being the 2nd employer after the government, employs thousands of workers. “Thousands of jobs would have been on the line if the Head of State did not intervene,” the PM opined, adding that his intervention was to preserve peace, social justice and national cohesion. “The Head of State insisted on saving CDC,” he underlined. “The CDC is witnessing a rebirth as a consequence of the vision of President Paul Biya,” the PM highlighted.
