External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella represented Cameroon at the meeting that took place in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella took part at the Ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in New York on September 26, 2025.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation among member States of the OIC across various fields, while underlining the importance of developing strategic partnerships that serve common interests and support integration and solidarity. The Ministers note that the objective of the meeting is to encourage mutual development across the Organisation. Minister Mbella Mbella together with the other Ministers reviewed most recent regional development achievements, foremost among them the situation in Palestine and the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip, with its tragic consequences. Foreign Ministers at the meeting stressed on the need to unify efforts and position of OIC member States while enhancing their presence as a more effective and influential force on the international scene.
Taking the floor, Minister Mbella Mbella reaffirmed the engagement of Cameroon to the values and principles of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. This, especially, as Cameroon assumed the Presidency of the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member States of OIC with Minister Mbella Mbella himself as President.
